Upon Raceway we trotted, or perhaps it was more of a half trot as we each have only two legs and felt no sense of hurry to reach the finish line as the stretch seemed picturesque. We had no qualms with being a Maiden (a horse who has yet to win a race). We placed a Banker (a supposedly certain bet) on our chances of reaching the gate in good time. The going (the underfoot conditions at the racecourse) was excellent - no potholes to be seen or felt.
We placed our blinkers (designed to help horses concentrate in races) upon our heads, not to limit our fields of vision, but to increase our focus on the beauty that abounded us along Raceway Road, in Jericho, Vermont on one fine March day.
It seemed like a good day and a good track for a half trot.
Which way to the duck race? |
And so we saddled up and moseyed along Raceway Road
to see what we could see.
At the end of the walk on Raceway Road, we were washed out (a nervous horse that was sweating). We hope to see you all at the tracks (Jericho dirt roads) for our next Roads of Community Living Series.

As for Raceway Road, I was looking for some evidence that you might have photographed something on my two brother-in-law and niece's property along that road. Lots of horses.
I look forward to starting my day and continuing to look at some more. Very, very positive and inspirational. What was Maeve doing in the outstretched arm image? Looks like she is preparing to go aloft, trying to hitchhike in a must-stop situation, or just cooling off her armpits?
I love old barns and weather vanes as well, Bernie. Notice the nails in some.
thanks and cheers and be safe! You got my day off to a good frame-of-mine!
