Art conveys beauty even more so when the backdrop is forlorn. Art created by local artists helps to build a community cornerstone. Art in Jericho, Vermont in 2020 was murals painted on barns - broken plates reflecting portrait(s). It encompassed outdoor firepits, and painted hearts adorned on shop windows on Valentine's Day. Art adorns daily in an 1860's English Sheep barn Gallery, and collages, watercolor, and Sculpture at Open Houses. Poets craft words to match nature's and our lust for life. Hand-molded clay models animals and the environment, while handcrafted functional pottery lights the way. Thin bands of wood become Shaker oval boxes. Oils, Acrylic, Pastel, stream across canvas. Jericho's artists ensure art is not lost; we need to ensure our artisans and their art remain in our hearts. Click on the links above to view some of the Jericho artist's websites.
Celebrate the arts that help give sanctuary, colors of diversity, texture, solidity, fabric, insight, cheer... and celebrate the Jericho artists that share their passion and talents with us.
Happy New Year

Here below are some highlights of one of Jericho's artists, of Stone and Fire - Chris Cleary.
Stone Carving, Steampunk Copper & Brass, Giant Wood Carvings designed and created - handmade in Vermont, by Chris Cleary of Jericho, Vermont.
Chris creates WORDS of wood capturing attention,
displaying their meaning in a big way.
Chris carves renewed life from wood as in this example - Jericho's Beauty and the Beast as I like to call this ferocious fire breathing dragon brought to life by Chris.
What other amazing creatures might Chris be firing up inside his On the Rocks workshop? Let us take a look inside his studio to see some of his recent out-of-this-world creations.
We may not have Arizona size scorpions here in Jericho, Vermont, however, we do have at least one daunting copper & brass scorpion - but don't worry, this one will never be found in your shoe!
Vermont does have some great game fish. Though this Angle fish created by Chris would certainly surprise anyone fishing in Vermont known for being the home of Champ the Lake Champlain sea monster.
Where does Chris get his inspiration, his jolt, his creative lift, from? Sometimes he straps on his made-in Vermont jet pack, fires it up, and launches into a zone others only dream of.
"The Best And Most Beautiful Things In The World Cannot Be Seen Or Even Touched - They Must Be Felt With The Heart." Helen Keller
Long time residents tell a historical tale, they recall, from the widow's walk or Captain's walk on the Jericho library building, when the serene evening skies of purple and pink stretch out from Jericho to Lake Champlain;
if you look hard and long enough you can occasionally see a gentle splash from the long flowing hair of a beautiful woman who upon sliding back into her heavenly water world flips her mermaid tail telling all - the lost sailors are all well cared for.
Even nature's creatures are enticed with On the Rocks, so much so that sometimes they stay in place 'in stone'.
Shall we now journey to On the Rocks outdoor studio?
Oh, in case I forgot to mention, the restroom is over this way, or should I say up this way.
The outdoor drinking fountain is here. Please be patient as the water has a long way to travel through the various cleansing piping.
For the wee of stature, the indoor water fountain is at your disposal.
When a light bulb goes on in Chris's head, well,
let's just say he is quick to ramp it up and run with it.
His ideas are often 'cutting edge'.
Moreover, his works are sure to get a smile out of you!
There is so much more to see. If you are getting tired, just...
On the other hand perhaps...
I recommend this blend...
Chris talking to visitors during an open house at the On the Rocks studio in Jericho, Vermont.
After hearing of the mermaid sightings on Lake Champlain, Chris decided to build a submersible to get a closer look.

In case of fire, stand in the shower -
many valves to choose from.
Thank You Chris for making Made in Vermont - cool, creative, and innovative!
