10 Valentine Questions

How does Jericho, Vt celebrate Valentine’s Day? Moody music, personalized sweet surprise, thoughtful words of endearment, delicacies to delight, remembering together how you first met, a caring gift or message to someone distanced from those they love?

Will you share a thought or two about celebrating Valentine’s Day with us?

Below are some ways you can participate in lieu of mass community hugs.

Share your Surprise Valentine's Day message to your sweetheart, loved one, friend, someone special, significant other, or someone more than just a friend and I will post it on the Jericho Blog on Valentine’s Day. Tell him or her and the world how you feel about them. Prose, poetry, or just plain say it like you feel it. Come on, it's one day a year - you can do it - and we all like pleasant surprises. For sure we can all use some hugs even if they are virtual hugs.

You can sign with your initials, or first name only, or full name, or the secret name known only to you and your best-est ever friend.

Share with us your ideas for getting romantic on Valentine’s Day. How will you celebrate with your significant other? Wine, roses, chocolate, cheese, take out from JCAT? What's your idea of the perfect Valentine’s Day dinner, and who does the dishes? Any heart-shaped food coming down? What is your favorite Valentine’s Day drink (alcoholic or not) and why?

What's YOUR fancy? Massage, breakfast in bed, romantic movie night, weekend getaway, hot attire, romantic tunes, personal and thoughtful love note, snowshoeing followed by hot chocolate?

Tell us how your idea of ‘romantic’ has changed over the years.

What is your love story? Will you share with us how you first met?

What is one simple thing that your partner does (especially customized) for you that makes you feel loved, happy, appreciated?

What was your funniest Valentine’s Day ever?

Have you ever danced the night away on Valentine’s day? What was that like?

What is your favorite Valentine’s music? Song? Lyric? And why? How about these by Vermont artists:

"All About You" by Kat Wright & the Indomitable band

Josh Panda’s “Drive You Home” (#13)

Grace Potter sings, “EveryDay Love”

"Love is Love", by Grace Potter

Swale”(#5) by Felon

If you could relive one Valentine’s Day, which one would it be, tell us how great it was.

We are not all so lucky to have someone to hug in person this Valentine’s Day. However, we all cherish being cared about and loved. What message would you like to send to someone that might be alone on this Valentine’s Day? Being alone does not have to translate into being lonely.

Hearts are calling. Will you listen? Will you make Valentine’s Day a most special day for someone you care about? Will you share one or more of your Valentine’s thoughts with the community?

Tell us what you think about this year’s Jericho Valentine’s theme, “Listen with Heart”. Watch for my essay on the theme, titled, "Jericho Listen Project - Listen with your heart - An impetus for discussion and discovery" on Valentine’s Day on my Jericho Community Blog.

Whether you care to share any Valentine’s thoughts with us via my blog, or not, either way I wish for you someone to care about and someone who cares about you, close up or six feet or more apart. Caring for someone knows no distance boundary.

To my dear partner:

Maeve, I get lost in your eyes!

You make my heart spin.

Maeve, Bee
my Valentine!
