Mountain Resort Seeks Jericho, Vermont Approval for Browns Trace Ski Slope

For Immediate Press Release

Mountain Resort seeks Jericho Select-board Approval for Browns Trace Ski Slope

Mini snowboard and ski slope envisioned for Browns Trace Jericho to complement its bigger cousin, Mount Mansfield. The slope will not compete with the well-known Cochran ski slope; however, it will be a miniature matching design
with towropes and free Slopeside Maple Syrup at the top of the summit.

Developers are expecting no parking concerns as the Jericho Community Center has pre-approved shared parking in its lot. Assuming the town will be delighted with this new commercial tax base and both tourist and local draw, construction of the mountain has begun. The mini-mountain resort expects the traffic on Browns Trace to perhaps

slow down to the current speed limit of 25 mph or less as gawkers admire the unusual placement of the new Jericho Mountain.

‘Catchers’
stationed at the bottom of the mountain will snag any skiers or boarders who venture into the road at the bottom of the slope.

Key sponsors for this awesome new attraction in Jericho are Jericho Country Store, Yukon Charlie’s, Burton, and Slopeside Maple Syrup
Open year-round, the mountain will offer King of the Mountain contests in the Vermont Summer season which is understood to be July 4-7.

Currently, Maeve Kim is the reigning King of the Snowflake Bentley Mountain.

At build-out, the new Jericho Mountain will feature a vertical drop of 672 cm, the largest in Jericho Center - and summer sightseeing rope tow access, and winter skiing/snowboarding on glaciers as high as 548 cm.

Amenities are expected to be luxurious.
Outdoor seating

Warming hut equipped with Sauna, Hot Tub,
and Hot Maple toddies.

Check out Snowflake Bentley Mountain before the snow melts, because like Snowflake Bentley himself said, “When a snowflake melted, that design was lost forever.” The new Jericho Center Mountain is indeed a one-of-a-kind design that once gone will be gone forever!
The first ten people to comment on this resort proposal will receive an invitation for a birds-eye tour of Snowflake Bentley Mountain.

The next step for the Jericho Mountain ski resort is the completion of the master development agreement with the town Select-board and a rezoning amendment to the official community plan. If all continues to move forward the resort could open in January 2023.

The towropes will reach the summits in seven minutes allowing plenty of time to enjoy the scenic view of Jericho Center and the surrounding mountains.
And don't forget the free VERMONT Slopeside Maple Syrup at the summit!

For a trial run, try out Bolger Hill (bunny slope) and ski down to the Jericho Country Store for eats. The breakfast “Snowplow” offering is delicious.

A New Ski Slope in Jericho Center... Yahoo!
Ted T • Underhill Center

At last, a new ski slope in Jericho Center, much handier than driving all the way 'round the mountain on Rte.15 or down the highway to Waterbury and up 100 and onto the Moscow Road and to the Stowe ski slopes which may fear this new entry.

The photos I have seen show a challenging slope, but one that is manageable. And with free"sugar" at the top! Will wonders never cease!

One question, though. Will this ultra slope be open to non-residents or is it strictly for Jericho "townies?" I wait breathlessly for a gracious and prompt reply to my question.

And as for phone calls to the shed at the base, may out-of-towners call collect?

Ted, Yes and Yes. - Bernie

  2. Well, this has great potential. Perhaps in the summer you could construct a skate park for tech decks? This would draw in the younger crowd for sure. Skaters could enjoy some aprĆØs skateboarding maple creemies at the Jericho Country Store.
