Firefighter Tribute to Chief Tillotson

 David Wayne Tillotson

May 24, 1946 - August 26, 2022

The UJFD (Underhill Jericho Fire Department) held a Firefighter Funeral for Chief Tillotson Saturday, September 10th at the Underhill Fire Station Located at 420 Vermont Route 15 in Underhill. The procession went from the Underhill Station down Route 15 onto Browns Trace Road and to the Cemetery on Barber Farm Road.

His obituary in part reads, "He joined the Underhill Jericho Fire Department in February of 1972. David proudly served the communities of Underhill and Jericho as a Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Chief. David received his final promotion to the rank of Honorary Chief in 2001. David also served the department as its moderator and treasurer. David obtained his life membership status in 1997 while he was serving as the Chief of the Department. David also served as the Fire Warden for the Town of Jericho for many years."

My time (long ago) spent as a volunteer fireman at the Winooski Fire Department taught me about many things including, devotion to duty and always coming out with as many as you went in with.  

Though I did not know Chief Tillotson I honor and respect his devotion to duty, his leadership as well as those who worked with him.
