The Jericho Pet Parade is back!
The route this year started at the north end of Jericho Center Circle (closest to the country store parking area), then wrapped around the circle past the church and the library, then turned around at the intersection with Browns Trace at the southern end of the circle and finished at the judges' tent in front of the library. Folks watching congregated on the Green while the judges deliberated, then prizes were given out in front of the library.
Prizes? Yes-- Pet Food Warehouse gift cards to five lucky winners! The judging categories/themes were: Tokyo Olympics, Summer Fun, Remembering 2020-2021, Most Creative, and Best in Show. The judges were Andrea Hook (the expert organizer of previous parades), Lily Devereux (representing Jericho Center Country Store), and Lindsey Halman (the newest member of the library's Board of Trustees)! Pete Davis was back, by popular demand, as MC.

Take a look at some Jericho Pet Parade photos. They were all (31 entrants) all-stars in my book. Including one tough chicken. They danced, they jumped, they did handstands (well the owners did anyway). They dressed up special for the day (the pets and the owners). The crowd cheered and hooted as they paraded by the Jericho Green. Prizes were handed out in front of the Jericho Town Library. I bet you can figure out which one was my top pick. Did you know why dogs don't need to wear diapers? There is a photo to answer that as well.
