Winter Solstice Seeking Sun and Solace in Vermont

2020 Winter Solstice - shortest day, longest night.

What to do with a languishing longest year, but laugh!

Or perhaps sing along, You are my Sunshine. If you don't have a warm beach to sing on, sing along with the highlighted link/video and enjoy the warm vibes of the sunny beach.

Or listen in on another of my favorite songs and a favorite artist (Michael Franti), The Sound of Sunshine. Here I am just waiting for this storm to pass me by.... that's the sound of sunshine coming down.

Franti wrote the song while in the hospital shortly after an operation for a ruptured appendix that had lingered seven days before being diagnosed correctly. He was still in much pain after the operation. He focused on music and the sunshine coming in through his hospital room window upon his face, to lift his spirits.

This year's storm will pass by. In the meantime, our souls could use a little releasing. Let's look (and go) outside and listen for the sound of sunshine!
