Roads of CommUnity Living Series #4 Orr Road

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
From "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost
Not with a sigh
for many more days of exploring remained
did we observe
two roads diverging
from left and right of Packard road in Jericho, VT.

To go on straight away was one choice
was plain to see.
on the other hand, one could go left
or right
ORR
Road
extended an invite
while Packard simply implied - take me or not.
Packard
or
Orr?
Straight continuing on Packard
or
left onto Orr
or right onto Orr.

Left empty of decisions
for this was a day to follow not lead
the breeze easily carried us left knowing
she could only bring us so far
before circling back from the dead-end
to start anew to the right.

Plains or Orr
left or right
We erred on the Orr side
happy to find Little Engine Heaven.

Walking Jericho's dirt roads releases our need to make decisions. We walk them not so much in a mediative state as in a feeling of being at home within ourselves.

We (Maeve and Bernie) set out this spring to start upon a journey - to walk every road, at least every dirt road in Jericho. This is #4 of our Roads to CommUnity Living Series. This is Orr Road, that is to say, these are some of our views along Orr road. What will you see on your walk?
