Jericho Mystery Photo # 9: Iconic Country Store Changes Name

News Release: Jericho Country Store, founded in 1807, one of Vermont's longest continuous running country stores is about to make a historic change - and with little fanfare or notice.

Late in September, a small flier was inserted in PO boxes and on the door of the store alerting customers that the store would be closed on Oct 1.

A large panel truck and workers with odd-looking equipment were seen discretely entering the store on Monday, Oct. 1.

A new store sign was quietly, shockingly, installed - going nearly unnoticed the next day when the store reopened.

Not since a Mountain Resort sought Jericho approval for a Browns Trace ski slope has local acceptance of change been so tested.

THE REAL STORY:

Day 1 of "Soulmates" written by two VT screenwriters & featuring Rusty Dewees & Luis Guzman was being filmed!

What a great community for Soulmates!

Then again, we have always known that.

"Sorry Rusty", we love you, but your name is not yet as iconic as our store's name. We are not looking for a store with good taste but a store that (has food that) tastes good.

If you go to Jericho Center Country Store, tell'em Rusty sent you!

Still time to stop in for a Maple and Vanilla creemee with your SOULMATE, or perhaps you might meet one while you are there - it is known to happen.
